A Look Back Over 2025!

It has been a busy year with large numbers of hounds needing rescue and low number of adoptions! Every time the census at the Bungalow dropped to under 20, it seemed that before we could take a deep breath, it was back up to 30 plus!

We have had 3 more scouts earn their eagle badge with projects at the Bungalow this past year. The path in the Memorial Park had large pavers laid down to make it easier to walk on the gravel. Another young man built 3 new benches to place around the firepit. Making a nice place for several volunteers to take a break and spend time talking and petting the pack!

Over Christmas break another scout brought many helpers to haul 600 bags of pea gravel into the yard, where several were assigned to splitting each bag, another group dumped the bags, and another group went to work with rakes to spread it all! I was impressed that this young scout managed to get his troops to complete the job in just 2 hours! It is wonderful to know that we are raising a wonderful generation that will look to volunteer work as normal!

We lost a few beagles over the year. Sadly, we cared for one young boy through a terminal disease that broke our hearts. As a sanctuary, we are proud of the care we provide the hounds that are ‘un-adoptable’ and hope that each hound that comes through the bungalow gets a chance at his forever home. We give them love and the social skills to find that perfect match!
