Annemarie
This funny looking 12 y/o girl came to the sanctuary from Baytown shelter. She was overweight and positive for heart forms. She is feeling good and stating to play. She is looking better now that her butt isn’t 4 times the size of her head!!

Suzie
This 7 y/o girl was found stray this last spring. She is super cute and fun to have around. After being in 3 foster homes and failing 3 adoptions, we finally understand why no one came looking for her. As sweet and loving as Suzie can be, she is an escape artist second to none! Only the 8 inch concrete barrier around the fence line at the Bungalow has kept her in! Good thing we have double gates because she is small and can get past her in a flash! She will be staying at the Bungalow until someone with a super secure yard takes her home!

Babs
Babs is a sweet owner surrender from near Huntsville. At 10 years old, she was very popular until a large abdominal tumor was found. She is comfortable and has a good appetite. Ssurgery is not an option so she will be on Hospice care until it is time to say good-bye.

Major
Major was found abandoned along with 7 other dogs in a home where the owner was put into a care facility for dementia. HBHR was there to rescue the two beagles and could not leave this old hound behind. Major is at least 12 years old and has arthritis and cataracts in both eyes. He gets around well and uses the dog doors like a pro. He will join our seniors for sunny naps and good food!

Booker
Booker is a senior boy who was found a year ago and taken to a local shelter. He was over 50 pounds and could hardy move! He has worked hard to lose 20+ pounds and is looking good. Because of chronic infection of his anal glands, Booker had surgery late last spring to have the anal sacs removed. He is much happier and free of infection but was left with some incontinence. When barking he will pop out small turds and you will find smears on bedding and the floor. He is not adoptable as is so will spend his life with the pack at the bungalow where the floors are moppable and the bedding gets changed often!

Beebe
Senior boy Beebe is a Basset mix. He arrived at the Bungalow weighing 87 pounds! He has already lost over 15 pounds, but still has 30 more to go!! He is a happy boy and enjoys running to the call of a squirrel sighting! Maybe he will be ready to meet a new family next fall!

Levi
Levi is an 8 y/o boy who has lived at the Bungalow for almost 2 years. He is quiet, sweet and very shy. His constant buddy Cyrus recently passed. You can see in his eyes how sad he is. He has always loved going on adventures with the escape artist in the pack so hoping he will once again join his friends in play time!

Sage
Sage just turned two years old. Her Mom and litter mates found new homes the summer of 2023 after they were all found abandoned. Sage was so frightened of people that she had to be trapped. She has only one person that she trusts to giving her the loving she needs. Even frequent volunteers to the Bungalow cause her to hide most of the trim. She is getting braver and we have high hopes that she will turn the corner like her pack mate Frankie has!!

Shiloh
Shiloh is a senior boy who has been a ‘yard dog’ for a long time. During the extreme heat this past summer, Shiloh came to stay at the bungalow. He is a big boy (probably a lab/beagle mix) who gets along with the pack and loves to chase after and carry around toys. He is currently on meds to help with his obsessive circling.

Eve
8 y/o Eve is the most skittish of all the dogs rescued from that hoarding situation. She knows her dog door and knows her name. She hops up on the couch where she expects her treat or dinner bowl to be placed. She has taken a treat from a hand only once and she was terrified that she would be touched! She is playing more with her pack mates and does not run and hide when visitors come into the yard. Slow but steady progress!

Dinah
Dinah is a 7 y/o cutie who came from that same hoarder. She is very skittish around people. After two months, she has gotten brave enough to take a treat from a hand! Progress is slow when socializing these feral dogs. She learned the dog door after we finally were convinced that coming in for dinner did not mean being locked up forever! She has the cutest little bay that she loves to use!

Poco
10 y/o Poco was an owner surrender. She is overweight and not fully house broken after being a yard dog for years. She is sweet and loving and has quickly adjusted to life with a warm bed to sleep in! She will stay at the Bungalow until she is ready for life with a family of her own!

Frankie
This red tick coonhound mix was found stray and taken to a shelter in Waco. She was timid and would not interact with adoptive families. HBHR was called to give this girl a second chance. At the ‘Low, she is slowly learning to trust people and will come for pets more often now. She loves squeaky toys and is learning to play with others. Watching the others in the pack interact with humans is the best medicine we can give this beautiful girl!
